The Beekeeper’s Secret is the third novel by Australian
author Josephine Moon. I was sent this book by the publishers Allen & Unwin
in exchange for an honest review.
This delightful story is set in Australia with the main
character being Tansy Butterfield who wants to turn her upcoming birthday
celebration into a family reunion as she hope to unite her mother Enid with her
Aunt Maria, who left the family home to join a convent many years ago. Tansy
sets about tracking Maria down to Honeybee Haven, where she leads a quiet life
with her bees selling honey and beeswax products to make money to fund a
Cambodian orphanage. Reuniting her troubled family leads to many secrets being
revealed, murder being just one of them!
Not only did this fictional book tell an interesting story
of family feuds but I also found it quite educational as there is a lot of
factual information about bees and the products that can be made. There is also
historical and modern data about Nuns and the Catholic Church. I was enthralled
and quite envious with the descriptions of the beautiful settings.
Sounds wonderful and very different. Thanks for reviewing.
